Private services were held today for Garnett Colvin Colgan, formerly of County Club Road, Monongahela, who died Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Beatrice Lawson Nursing Home, Jefferson Borough. She was 91 years of age.
Born in Centerville, Sept. 15, 1886, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Jennie Farquhar Colvin, who were pioneer residents of Washington County. Mrs. Colgan was a member of the First United Methodist Chursh of Donora and a life member oof the D.A. R. She was also a member of the Donora Woman's Club, the Friday Conversational Club of Monongahela and the Order of the Eastern STar, Chapter 94, Donora. She was a graduate of California Normal School, class of 1906. Mrs. Colgan is survived by one son, Howard O. Colgan, Jr., of Saddle River, J. J.; three duaghters, Mrs. Isle (Jean) Zehner of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Harvy (Ruth) Davis of Miami, Fl., and Mrs. Donald (Louise) Allen of Wallkingford, Pa.; seven grandchildren, and three grea-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Howard O. Colgan, in 1965. Interment took place in Monongahela Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by the James A. Rabe Funeral Home, 701 Thompson Ave., Donora.
